AR Express

AR Express is a small family –owned business that was founded in 2007 with a vision to promote health and vitality through the use of organic foods. Dealing directly with the grower-supplier, AR Express is able to avoid the use of intermediaries that are usually involved in larger companies. As a result, their products have been minimally handled and individually packaged with care.

AR Express believes in the healing and sustaining powers of foods and their nutritional benefits to our health. That’s why they are proud to offer Organic Cocoa beans. Through the support of local inhabitants, ARExpress is doing their part to promote development in the area both environmentally and economically.

The origin of these Organic Cocoa Beans is Brazil. After picking the pods (resembling a small orange squash) from the cocoa trees, which are situated under the rain forest canopy, the pods are opened and the beans are extracted. The beans are then placed in wooden bins and are allowed to ferment for a period of time similar to the process of wine fermentation. After fermentation they are dried and stored in a dark and dry place. Incorporating a unique and completely natural process into the traditional method AR Express has been able to develop a cocoa bean that is eatable whole and with the shell (skin). This allows the nutrients of the bean and the skin to be eaten, like so many other fruits.
