Ohana Banana Farms

Father-and-son team of Michael and Young Tarring spend long days together raising their special apple bananas on the slopes of Kilauea, HI. The combination of the tropical sun and life-giving rain provide ideal conditions for year-round harvests and allow them to distribute their apple bananas throughout the state and the mainland under the Hawaiian Candy Apple Bananas brand.

Since 1985, the Tarrings have grown to become one of the largest suppliers of fresh apples bananas in Hawaii. According to the Tarrings, "Just knowing that we are able to feed people good, wholesome food is very gratifyin for us."
