Order three of Rio Grande Nursery's beautiful dwarf citrus trees. They make excellent gifts and will brighten any room in your house. With six different types of trees offered, you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for.
Frost Eureka Lemon
Eureka lemon is one of the most commonly-grown lemons in California and a major variety throughout the citrus-growing world. It originated in a group of seedling trees grown in Los Angeles, California in the 1850s. The seeds that produced these trees were of Italian origin.
Improved Meyer Lemon
Our best selling citrus! Grow lemons on your patio and enjoy the sight and scent of indoor winter blooms with this container-sized Improved Meyer Lemon tree! Small enough even for urban balconies, limited-space gardens or in sidewalk cafes, Meyer Improved will begin bearing large, juicy, lemons almost year round. Since lemons are acidic they dont need much heat to bring the fruit to full ripeness. Enjoy the fragrant waxy white blossoms throughout the year.
Mexican Lime (Key Lime)
The trees are moderately-sized and bushy, almost shrub-like, and the leaves are distinctively aromatic when crushed. Mexican lime trees are sensitive to cold. The blossoms are pure white and fragrant. The fruits are small, approximately one and one-half inches in diameter, and almost round, with a thin, smooth, greenish-yellow rind at maturity that is especially fragrant. The flesh is greenish-yellow, seedy, and highly acidic, with a fine texture. Once Mexican limes reach full maturity, usually in autumn to early winter, they drop from the tree.
Kaffir Lime
The kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix DC., Rutaceae), also known as kieffer lime, makrut, or magrood, (Bai Ma-gkood,PewMa-gkrood) is a type of lime native to Indonesia, commonly used in Thai cuisine, and widely grown worldwide as a backyard shrub. The kaffir lime tree is well suited to container growing. The fruit is rough, bumpy green and grows on very thorny bush with very fragrant leaves. Even a small scratch of the lime releases a roomful of refreshing fragrance, like a fragrant bouquet of citrus blossoms.
N-33 Navel Orange
The fruit of the N-33 Navel Orange tree is a lovely orange color, delicious, easily peeled, seedless fruit. It is produced by this medium sized tree and recognized as one of the sweetest oranges ever developed. The tree offers fragrant flowers in spring and beautiful foliage year round.
Rio Red Grapefruit
Large, fragrant blooms and nearly white flesh make the Rio Red a standout variety. Sweeter than most grapefruit and great for juicing, ?Rio Red?s? juicy red flesh is a favorite at breakfast. Importantly, it is more tolerant of cold than other varieties. You can enjoy these citrus trees indoors in winter and on the patio all summer long.
