Storage: Maintain the fresh taste of walnuts by keeping them cold. Walnuts go rancid when exposed to warm temperatures for long periods of time. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer, depending on when you’re going to use them. If you’re going to use them right away, store in the refrigerator. For storage of a month or longer, store them in the freezer.

Recipe Idea
- Walnut Stuffed Mushrooms
- 18 large mushrooms
- 2 tbs melted butter
- Garlic salt
- 2 tbs minced fresh onion
- 2tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbs mayonnaise
- 3 tbs grated parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup finely chopped walnuts
Clean mushrooms, remove the stems and set aside. Brush the caps with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt. Chop and sauté the stems with the onion and remaining butter. Add all the other ingredients and fill the caps with this mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes or until mushrooms are tender and tops are browned.
