Recipe: Brewed Organic Cocoa

Fresh brewed organic cocoa is made the same way folks used to make coffee in the days of yore.

Utensils needed:

1 pan

1  strainer

1  coffee pot or receptacle with wide mouth

1  tablespoon

1  Whirly grinder (type used for grinding coffee beans) or food processor

1  8 oz. cup

Put whole organic roasted unshelled beans in the whirly grinder and grind for 30 seconds (shaking grinder a little)  or food processor until beans become a rich oily powder.

When beans are ground fill pan with water. For every 8 oz. of water you put in the pan, add 2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa powder to the water. Bring the water to a boil and let simmer for 2 minutes. Take strainer and place on top of coffee pot or a receptacle of choice with an opening wide enough to fit the strainer. Pour the cocoa through the strainer using the tablespoon to press the cocoa grounds in the strainer.

To make 1 cup (8 oz.) of rich hot chocolate use ½ cup of cocoa with ½ cup of milk or soy milk, coconut milk etc. Sweeten with sugar or preferred sweetener according to your preference. About 2 tablespoons of sugar is the norm for one 8 oz. cup of hot organic fresh brewed cocoa. You may also add a little vanilla and/or cinnamon.

Unlike caffeine, theobromine is not addictive and is a vasodialator(reduces blood pressure), is a diuretic and a heart stimulant. In addition, the future use of theobromine in such fields as cancer prevention has been patented.

Not like the commercial marketed versions that offer only a remnant of what the true cocoa bean contains, the beans from which our hot cocoa is made give you 100% of the goodness and nutrients contained in chocolate.

Enjoy drinking hot cocoa from whole organic roasted beans without guilt. Not only are you drinking something that is delicious but at the same time adding a nutritional supplement to your diet which will have a positive long term impact on your life.
