Its little wonder SideCreek Farms’ organic shiitake sprout a rich, earthy flavor and is chockfull of nutrition.
Sierra Olive Oil
Sierra Olive Oil is known for its award-winning Mission/Lucca Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Chinese Camp (near Yosemite), the company hand produces each bottle of olive oil to ensure freshness and high-quality flavor. The company planted Mission and Lucca olive trees 13 years ago and is now in its sixth year of olive oil production. Coincidentally, the company’s location is the same latitude as the famous Italian olive oil regions of Puglia, Calabria and Sicily. All of the company’s oil is extra virgin without any additives, preservatives, chemicals or heat used during the extraction process. Old family recipes are used to make the company’s popular EVOO Blends.
Specialty Potato Alliance
To Jill Overdorf of the Specialty Potato Alliance (SPA), fingerlings are the most flavorful potatoes. Ever. “Imagine the richest, most buttery flavor and multiply that by five times,” she urges. A professionally trained chef, this potato proponent has seen fingerlings rise in popularity with home cooks since European chefs introduced them in New York City restaurants ten years ago. And seeded a national hunger for a flavorful gourmet variation of the humble spud. SPA partners with two family farms—Rocky Farms LLC in Colorado’s San Luis Valley and Lehr Brothers in Bakersfield, California—who produce the bulk of fingerlings shipped. Suppliers from Idaho, Wisconsin, the Dakotas and Nebraska make this a year-round offering for consumers.
