Avocados
OUT OF SEASON
AVOCADO, this fruit (not vegetable) is sodium-free, cholesterol-free and has only 5 grams of fat per serving, most of which is the good fat (Monosaturated-Low-Density Lipoprotein(LDL), which is good for your heart).
Our Avocados are slightly sweet, buttery and nutty in flavor with a creamy texture.
Did you know people in Brazil add Avocado to ice cream! Avocados are also considered a Berry that contains a single seed. Some call it “Alligator Pear” due to its shape and bumpy skin. And, California produces about 90% of the nation’s Avocados!

The variety we carry is known as Red Lady and is rarely seen in any supermarket or mass distribution outlet. The flavor is sweet but mild and does not have the smell that gives papaya a bad name. Unique to South Florida there are only a handful of people growing this variety.

Just pull the skin back and pull off, will reveal a translucent fleshed fruit. Eat around the pit. The sweet smell when you open the box will amaze you.

Fresh Gardens is now adding the Black Sapote. This fruit can only be eaten after its reached a soft mushy state, and there is no in between. We ship it green but upon arrival let it sit out and let it ripen to a dark colored skin and turns mush. This is when its ready, not before!
