Royal trumpet mushrooms feature a delicious nutty flavor, firm texture and long shelf life.  They are medium to large in size and grow in clusters of four to five. Their versatility and savory richness are emphasized by high-heat cooking.  They’re also delicious grilled, braised, stewed and broiled.  Unlike many mushrooms, the stem has the same wonderful texture and flavor as the cap – nothing goes to waste.  Sauté with shallots and herbs and add them to salads, pastas, meat, seafood and chicken dishes.
